    The scope of OB/Gyn nursing involves the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients birth to geriatrics in the areas of Labor and Delivery, Newborn nursery, post-partum care, and some limited Medical/ Surgical nursing care. Working within a model of “Safe Patient Family Centered Care”, the OB/Gyn RN collaborates with the Health Care team to develop a plan of care, monitor the plan’s effectiveness, and to assist in developing a discharge plan to best meet the patient’s and family’s needs. The OB/Gyn RN works under the direction of the Clinical Care Coordinator and the OB/Gyn and PARC Nurse Manager.

    Minimum Qualifications: Current in the State of Maine as a Registered Professional Nurse. Current BLS Certification. NRP Certification preferred (or attained within twelve months of hire). Completion of departmental competencies within one month of hire. Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) within six months of hire. Basic Fetal Monitoring Course completion within six months of hire. Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course completion within six months of hire.

  • Responsible for collecting and submitting reliable data for the ACS NSQIP program through high-quality data compilation, documentation and entry into the ACS NSQIP database of all eligible patients in the hospital. Work closely with the Surgical Physician Champion, members of QRS Department, medical Directors, Physicians/Surgeons, hospital staff and IT to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects as may be identified. Provide support and backup for the abstraction of data for submission to CMS via the MIDAS system including but not limited to SCIP data.


    Minimum Qualifications: Registered Nurse from a two-year accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred. One to two years related hospital surgery experience and/or clinical chart abstraction experience required. Ability to complete all pre-training, on-site training, and post-training for CMS and ASC NSQIP modules and pass the training post-test as required.
